To build on this success and enhance future outreach efforts, we recommend:

  1. Formalize Event Selection Criteria: Develop a calendar of high-impact events for the year, prioritizing those that reach underserved populations or align with strategic goals.
  2. Increase Geographic Coverage: Ensure events are distributed across all service areas to reach residents in rural and urban communities.
  3. Enhance Visibility: Incorporate more interactive activities, and digital sign-up options (in progress) to attract and engage attendees.
  4. Collaborate with Partners: Strengthen partnerships with schools, nonprofits, and local businesses to co-host events and expand reach.

The milestone to “Engage in Community Outreach events at least once per quarter systemwide” was successfully achieved in Quarter 4. Library Services staff participated in multiple outreach events across the county, including:

  • Hastings Back to School Event (8/2)
  • Webster Back to School Block Party (8/2)
  • Flagler College Community Fair (9/3)
  • Community Baby Shower (9/13)
  • St. Augustine Record Fair (9/28)

Impact:

  • Exceeded Minimum Requirement: The system engaged in five outreach events, surpassing the milestone of at least one event per quarter.
  • Diverse Audience Engagement: Events targeted families, students, and community members of varying ages and interests, aligning with the strategic objective to foster social engagement for all abilities.
  • Direct Service Delivery: Staff registered new library cards and provided information about library resources, strengthening community connections and increasing awareness of services.
  • Community Presence: Participation in these events reinforced the library’s visibility as a cultural and educational resource.

Continue collecting survey responses consistently across all programs and ensure response data is accurately compiled for analysis. In FY26, prioritize dedicating time and resources to conduct a detailed review of satisfaction rates, attendance figures, and demographic participation.

This milestone is in progress. The department has begun collecting and reviewing participant survey data, which is distributed to all program participants that registered in advance for a program.

Continue to work with staff annually to review community feedback, participation trends, and program success when developing the upcoming year’s calendar. Incorporate identified community requests and proven successful programs into the annual budget process to ensure adequate funding and support for ongoing program development.

The department currently offers a balanced variety of recreational, educational, and cultural programs designed to promote inclusivity and community engagement. Staff collaborate regularly to assess program performance and community participation, ensuring that offerings reflect resident interests and evolving needs.
