Launch Featured Projects Webpage
The Office of Public Affairs will continue to maintain the Featured Projects web page as Capital Improvement Projects progress and finish.
St. Johns County successfully launched a new Featured Projects web page to enhance government transparency, community engagement, and public access to information regarding major County initiatives. The interactive platform is now live and serves as a centralized, user-friendly resource providing residents with detailed, real-time insight into ongoing and completed capital improvement projects Countywide.
The Featured Projects web page delivers comprehensive project-level information, including project descriptions and scopes, budget and funding sources, interactive project locations via Google Maps, progress photos and videos, and direct contact information for County staff associated with each project. The page provides visibility into dozens of major projects spanning infrastructure, public safety, recreation, stormwater, and other priority service areas, offering the public a clear view of how County resources are being invested.
Aligned with the St. Johns County Strategic Plan priorities of Community Trust and Infrastructure, the page consolidates project data that was previously dispersed across multiple platforms, improving accessibility and usability for residents. The platform is designed for continuous updates, ensuring project information remains current as milestones are reached and construction progresses.
The launch reflects significant cross-departmental collaboration and staff effort to implement best practices in government transparency and innovation. By providing clear financial information, visual progress tracking, and direct points of contact, the Featured Projects web page strengthens accountability, supports informed public engagement, and reinforces trust between the County and its residents.
This initiative establishes a scalable framework for ongoing transparency and positions the County to expand project visibility over time as new capital initiatives are launched.
Enhance Website Accessibility
Continue focusing on formalizing accessibility governance, expanding remediation efforts, and building operational capacity. Priorities should include adopting the accessibility policy and procedures, completing baseline audits, strengthening staff training, and establishing ongoing monitoring and reporting processes. Securing dedicated accessibility staffing remains essential to support sustainable compliance and organization-wide coordination.
The accessibility initiative is progressing from foundational planning into active implementation. Remediation efforts, accessibility reviews, and basic training resources have established momentum, but several initiatives remain dependent on staffing capacity and formalized governance. Key next steps include completing policy development, expanding training, conducting comprehensive audits, and implementing ongoing monitoring processes to support long-term compliance.
